A successful top Grand Prix horse that combines the blood of Gribaldi and Ferro, Painted Black retired from top sport at 19. He is 3rd on the KWPN ranking list and we consider him mid-way between Negro and Lord Leatherdale in terms of his breeding profile.
Is a son of top stallion Gribaldi Preferent.
Has an incredibly long and successful sporting career, with a lot of success in competitions and young stallion horse races Hans Peter Minderhoud.
With Anky van Grunsven he was 6-year-old reserve champion at the World Championship for Young Horses in Verden and won the Dutch championship Light Tour in 2005.
Continued his successful international career including Dutch Big Tour Championship in 2008 and a 3rd place in the World Cup final in Las Vegas (2009).
Since 2010 particularly successful in the U25 competitions with Morgan Barbançon Mestre.
Continued with a successful transition to Grand Prix with highlights including during participation in the London Olympics in 2012 and participation in the World Championships in 2015 where Painted Black - Morgan Barbançon was the best Spanish combination.
In 2016 Painted Black retired form Top sport at the age of 19.
The KWPN granted the designation ''Accepted'', Painted Black has joined the elite group of top breeders.
With a high index of 169 and a 90% reliability, Painted Black is ranked 3rd place in the KWPN index.
